As part of Jumbo’s digital transformation, I've redesigned the homepage to align with the new brand vision, improve user navigation, and ensure a seamless experience across devices. The goal was to create a visually engaging and user-friendly homepage that clearly communicates Jumbo’s core values while optimizing key interactions, particularly on mobile.
Client:
Jumbo Supermarkten
My Role:
Lead UX Designer & Facilitator
Year:
2021 - 2022
Service Provided:
UX Design, Art Direction, Stakeholder Alignment
Explore & define:
The project started with workshops and benchmarking, where I collaborated with stakeholders and designers to define business needs and analyze industry best practices. Through wireframing exercises and team discussions, we established a shared vision for the homepage structure.
Ideate & prototype:
During the ideation and prototyping phase, I worked closely with a smaller core team to refine concept designs, ensuring alignment with the overall redesign strategy. These concepts were then presented to stakeholders and handed over to an external agency for final development.
Testing:
To ensure an effective launch, I created guidelines for content management and supported the initial A/B testing phase, focusing on navigation improvements and homepage engagement.
Results & Learnings:
Aligned stakeholders around a clear homepage vision
Improved mobile navigation through the introduction of ‘Toptaken’ (key tasks)
Positive user feedback on the new homepage’s engagement and usability
Key Learning: Design sprints are highly effective for stakeholder alignment and early-stage validation
This project reinforced the power of collaborative design and structured user validation, ensuring the homepage not only reflects Jumbo’s brand identity but also serves as an intuitive entry point for customers.
